Installation Instructions

The easiest method of installing Pardus 25 in a virtual machine is to use the standard Pardus 25 distribution CD.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, verify that the following tasks are complete:

Installation Steps

  1. Insert the Pardus 25 installation media in the CD-ROM drive.
  2. Power on the virtual machine.
  3. From the Boot options, select Install for text mode installation or Install with Graphical User Interface for graphic user interface installation.
  4. Follow the prompts to complete the installation.
  5. Install either Open VM Tools or VMware Tools. VMware recommends using the Open VM Tools included with Pardus 25.

Use Open VM Tools provided by the guest OS.

Open VM Tools

Open VM Tools is the open-source implementation of VMware Tools and consists of a suite of virtualization utilities that improve the functionality, administration, and management of virtual machines on VMware hypervisors. Use the Open VM Tools redistributed by the operating system vendors.

Install Open VM Tools

  • Run the commands:
    1. $ sudo apt-get update
    2. $ sudo apt-get install open-vm-tools
